Music is a powerful way to shift your energy and mood and therefore your state.
Music can make us happy, excited, sad and motivated. Music connects with us on a very deep level, effecting our emotions, energy and even our thoughts.
Making it a very powerful tool for shifting your state.
What do I mean when I say state? Well…
What happens when someone makes you laugh or happy?
You feel happy emotions, you feel more relaxed, you have happier thoughts about yourself, the world and the person and you behave more happily.
On the other hand…
What happens when someone says or does something that makes you angry?
You feel angry, you have angry thoughts, you focus more on the negative and think about all the things about that person that make you angry and you likely behave angrily, storming around, pacing or increasing your breathing. You likely also find more things to be angry about and it can end up influencing the rest of your day.
Both of these are perfect examples of how a certain stimulus can influence your emotions, thoughts and behaviour.
Which altogether make up your ‘state’.
The ‘state’ we are in can have a huge impact on the way we feel, the way we perceive our selves, others and the world, the thoughts we think and the behaviors and actions we take.
There are many things that can influence are state.
Music being one of the most powerful of all. With the right music we can shift ourselves into more desirable states and out of less desirable states at will.
Once I discovered this I decided to start using music to do just that, creating different playlist to help shift my state.
Below are the exact playlists I use on a regular basis for shifting myself into different states throughout my day and week.
I have found that music that contains no or very little lyrics to be the most powerful for shifting my state. I believe this is because music with too many lyrics influence our thoughts and emotions based off the words being used.
However, if you use music with little to no lyrics, then you are able to make the music your own and have your own unique emotions and thoughts. Which is far more powerful.
There are 4 playlists below that I use on a daily and weekly basis.
I have refined these playlists over the years to contain some of the most powerful music for each state. The 4 states being peaceful, joyful, powerful and reflective/visioning.
